Borgonovo Pohl, Dutch Bros., and Stove Team international, teamed up to deliver 40 ecological stoves to the San Carlos community, located in Talnique.

The Eco-cocina is a viable alternative that contributes greatly to the rescue of the country’s natural and coffee forest, and provides incalculous health benefits to the residents that use firewood as their main source of energy for cooking.

The stoves are designed and assembled in El Salvador by Gustavo Pena and Stove Team International.

According Gustavo Peña director of the program, the ecological stove can save up to 60% of firewood consumption, through a system that takes full advantage of the heat generated inside of the structure. Additionally the stove design reduces smoke more than 90%, resulting in less respiratory and visual infections of its users.
